Working to Eradicate Gynecologic Cancers

Hugh Barber Lectureship - Professor Tito Fojo

Monday, March 30, 2015: 9:15 AM-10:00 AM
International Ballroom (Hilton Chicago)
Description: The past decade has seen the approval of many therapies for the treatment of solid tumors. Numerous targets have been identified and drugs developed but unfortunately too often they have failed to deliver on their promise. While recognizing that solid tumors are formidable foes, there is always room for improvement in how therapies are developed. In discussing the benefits that have been achieved and those we have not achieved, attention will be given to problems with clinical trial design and interpretation, the problem of “me too therapies” and the unfortunate incentive of high drug costs.
