Biographical Sketch:
I am in my fourth year of fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Splenectomy is a procedure utilized in 12% of primary debulking procedures for advanced pelvic serous carcinomas. Over the course of fellowship training we gain experience in both the technical aspects of splenectomy and postoperative care of these patients. Prior to undertaking this project I completed a literature search as background for the work.
