Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sharyn N. Lewin is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Lewin’s special interests and research include novel treatment strategies for ovarian cancer and peritoneal surface malignancies using heated intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC) and intraperitoneal chemotherapy (IP). She is the Principal Investigator for a novel IRB approved Phase II trial utilizing HIPEC in recurrent ovarian cancer patients. She is a national educator regarding Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome (HBOC) as well as state of the art treatment for advanced ovarian cancer. She received the prestigious Doctor of the Year award at New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP). She is Medical Director of the NYP Woman to Woman Program.
